It’s not uncommon for me to see several birds at a time enjoying the pleasures of a dip in my birdbath although usually birds of the same species – as i have documented before in this blog. 🙂
This time though a truce was established between two of the more senior (as in rank, not age) in the birdbath ‘pecking order’. 😉
(Click on a pic to open in a new window and click again for full detail 🙂 )A Red Wattlebird patiently awaits his turn while the black and white Magpie Lark tests the waters. 🙂
Each having had a dip one remains a little more dignified than his wary companion. 🙂
Normally standing as tall and looking almost as elegant as his two-toned partner, a wet wattlebird doesn’t quite measure up. 🙂
Despite my being most cautious not to be noticed photographing the pair as they bathed i think the Magpie Lark might have sussed my hiding place. 😉
love.
