Beautiful! I’ve never seen a wild orchid in RL.

Glad you like it E. M. 🙂 Being of a somewhat ‘senior’ generation i seem to be losing touch a little with modernspeak so am guessing that RL means real life?? I was surprised to find the ones i took photos of in a park quite near my house. The park has large trees which provide good shade and lots of bark and leaves as nutrients for the plants and which makes any colours stand out so the flowers can be easy to spot against the shades of brown or grey. it is now largely fenced so it is harder for people to just walk by and rip up the plants ( as a few spoilers have done before) 😦
You might be lucky enough to find some around your home if you know where to look. I found this to give you some encouragement and ideas of what you might find: https://midwesternplants.org/2016/07/29/native-orchids-of-illinois/
Good luck in RL 😉
love.
