Flower of the Day – February 23, 2018 – ‘Pregnant’ Onion Plant – Albuca Bracteata

This succulent is generally known as an Onion Plant – for it’s obviously onion like bulb at it’s base.

The flower stem is about 3-4 ft long (a metre plus!) There can be up to a hundred individual flowers on the tip but only about 10 are in flower at any one time with the last flowers opening around 2 months after the first ones have.
