Flower of the Day – October 25 – (Another) Yellow Rose.

So this week i’m dedicating my FOTD to my ROSES! 🙂

Day 5.  Yellow Rose.

My yellow rose i’ve had for around 10 years and it has a problem. It’s a little ‘short’ and i think it feels embarrassed about that because all her flowers hang their heads as if in shame.

She has no reason to be ashamed, but, you know how some girls get when they are beautiful but don’t believe in themselves and get shy and easily embarrassed? 😉

It’s actually genetic – her stems just are not capable of supporting all that beauty and they bend under the weight of the fully formed flower, so she hangs her head(s). I thought she might grow out of it in time – but no signs as yet. 😦

Not looking shy here – why should they?

In full bloom of beauty yet can’t hold her head up. 😦 You can see the relative size of bud and bloom! The flower is 12 cm (5 in) diameter! The bush stands around 60-90 cm (2-3ft)

Not shy in producing flowers, but they end up looking at the ground. 🙂
