Just Another Day Down At The Pool (Part 1)

One of the special joys of my life lately is watching the local avian population as they perform their antics and aerobatics in and around (and above) my birdbath.

Recently i had the delight to catch these New Holland Honeyeaters enjoying a typically sunny, warm day ‘down at the pool’.

(R to L: In, Under, Out, Shimmy, Shake, Reflect, Race round to the start to do it again!)

    • Yup, one of a larger family of birds called Honeyeaters (although they also feed on insects) they have a long beak and furry tipped tongue for extracting nectar from our plants!

They are exclusively native to South of the Equator mostly Australasia.

They are such fun to watch! 🙂

    • It’s been a REALLY popular spot for a whole range of birds lately!
(Not, i suspect, unlike your feeder. One difference being i have the odd UNwanted cat!! – while you get a greedy squirrel or two.) 🙂
