My friends all laughed at me when I told them that one day I’d become a world famous comedian. I took this as a good omen.
I worked really hard at developing my technique in front of a microphone and spent hours and hours working on a really killer script with razor-sharp, witty punch lines. I studied the psychology of humour to better understand what people find funny and why, and learned how to read a room so as to be best able to quickly build up and then suddenly break the tension to get that sense of relief that is at the heart of our impulse to laugh out loud.
When i was ready i invited everyone that laughed at me before to my first gig as a stand-up comic.
I really turned the tables on them – now i’m the only one laughing!!! 😉
Love.
… the only one laughing. Reminds me of the line; he who laughs last, laughs best.

So the proverb has it, but in Stand-up he who laughs last is likely to be the subject of the next joke! 😉
