I missed posting one of the native flowers (well, two actually, the next will be up in coming days) from my walk around my main park lake from a couple of weeks ago.
It is a brilliantly coloured shrub known as a Flame pea, or sometimes the heart leaf flame pea.

.Close up the flowers sort of resemble those of the sweet pea which may account for the common name.

Very similar flower to the ‘egg and bacon’ plant – except the leaves have a different arrangement. Different genus also, they are a Eutaxia. 🙂
