Another one of the flowers currently blooming in my garden, this time the flower of an Aloe Vera plant, renowned for its leaves’ soothing or healing properties and as a health supplement. It seems there is little to no hard evidence for this however, and any claimed benefit seems more likely to be from the Placebo Effect rather than actual plant benefit.
Even so the flowers can be quite therapeutic just to look at! 🙂
Just 3 months ago the 9 or so plants in this small patch were shriveled up and brown thanks to months of dry, relentless heat. A few downpours of June rain soon sorted that out.

I have tried a few times to grow this. Clearly it doesn’t take to Yorkshire like rhubarb.

Don’t think it’s a big fan of cool weather, or lack of sunlight. Did you try indoors near a South facing window (if you have one??)
