FOTD – June 28 – Spider Plant flower (Chlorophytum comosum)

The spider plant is a member of the Asparagaceae family and goes by several names including the airplane plant, St. Bernard’s lily, spider ivy, ribbon plant, and hen and chickens!

The most common varieties have long thin variegated leaves, but they also have a single coloured leaf variety.

The plant sends out long flower stalks that end in ‘baby’ versions of itself that will send out roots and can establish new plants if they reach soil.
