A woman has twins, but due to dire financial circumstances cannot afford to give them a decent home life so makes the difficult choice to give them up for adoption.
One child goes to a family in Israel and is named Amal. The other goes to Spain and is called Juan.
Years later, Juan finds out who his real birth mother is and sends a picture of himself to his mum.
Upon receiving it, she’s so happy, but also a little sad that she doesn’t know anything about her other son, other than the family named him Amal. She tells her husband that she wished she also had a picture of Amal.
Her husband says: “But they are twins. If you’ve seen Juan, you’ve seen Amal.”
