I have 3 different lantana bushes around my house and they are constantly surprising me with the number of colours they can display in their small but incredibly abundant flowers.
I intended to give examples of all 3 bushes in my post but found i just had too many beautiful examples to limit to one post. These flowers are all from the same bush taken on the same day. This bush i refer to as the ‘Burgundy/pink” one, but as you can clearly see it refuses to be tied down to just those colours.
In addition to the Burgundy i have a Lemon Yellow and an Orange and Gold lantana but i will save those photo’s for another FOTD.
(Click on a pic to open in a new window and click again to see enlarged detail!) 🙂
Each flower starts out as one main colour but quickly starts producing a ‘wreath’ of trumpet flowerettes around the centre of a different shade! Sometimes the circle is not completed as in the first photo.
A beautiful double wreath. Most flowers are produced in pairs on the stem.
All photos are in the natural colour, i have only cropped two images for better display and have not touched the hue or saturation of the originals.
