Laughter and Lilac.

Actually it is neither – i just liked the alliteration. 🙂

The Laughter part relates to the ‘Laughing Dove’ in the photo i snapped this morning in my neighbour’s Jacaranda tree that is just coming into bloom, which is a beautiful shade of Lilac. So it kinda fits.

She seems to be in a dreamlike state as she admires the flowers. I caught her by ‘mistake’ having heard the sound of a Kookaburra from behind me. When i turned to try and catch it the only bird shape i saw was this one about 20 metres away (60ft) and snapped it quickly before it could fly off and before i had time to check any settings or details.

Curiously enough the Kookaburra is also known here as the Laughing Jackass as it’s call really can sound a little like crazy laughter – which would have made the title suit better. 😉
