Flower of the Day – November 3 – Euryops

Euryops pectinatus, a funny name for a beautiful plant, it is a native of Southern and Western Africa but grows gloriously here in Perth.

It is related to Daisies as is fairly obvious, a member of the Asteracaea family, but grows as a woody trunked bush that is currently over 6 feet (<2m) high and wide and is covered in hundreds of these flowers which last pretty much right through Spring, Summer and well into Autumn.

The centre reminds me very much of my Gazania i have posted here before, probably because they are also a relative of Euryops and the Daisy family.
