Flower of the Day – October 31 – Orange Poppy + Bee

Yet another hybridised Poppy from my garden – clearly being enjoyed by one of our local honey producers… does orange poppys’ pollen get used for making marmalade?? 😉

    • The red one was how ALL my poppies looked the first year after i set the seeds (from a neighbour). Each year i get more different ones pop up. The original ones likely grew from seeds brought back from Turkey and Galilee by relatives of Aussies who died fighting the Ottomans for control of the Middle East WW1 and WW2.
