Flower(s) of the Day – October 20 – Re-Cap Of Native Flower Week… In A Single Photo.

So this week i’m dedicating my FOTD to Australian Natives. 🙂

Day 7.  Re-cap: Kangaroo Paw, Pink Gladiolus, Purple Tassels, Freshwater Paperbark

For the last day of my Australian Native dedication i thought this picture sums up pretty well what i love about my State’s bushland (or at least the parts closer to where i live – we are fortunate enough to have a pretty wide variety of different types of ‘the Bush’ – and quite a lot of it. (Lots of it burns very quickly and frequently, but on the whole, it copes!)

You have to look pretty hard and up close to see the Purple Tassels in the pic – they are hidden and a little blurry. 😉

This photo was taken in the middle of King’s Park , one of the largest reserves of the natural local vegetation in any capital city of the world.  It is less than 2 miles from the heart of the CBD and sits between the heart of deepest, darkest middle class suburbia and our river. It is possible to walk for hours through it in the middle of the week and not see another soul! 😉

And be treated to scenes like this one in the Springtime  (when admittedly it is a little busier and loaded with tourists. 🙂 )

Ok, because it’s Saturday – here’s a 7th flower for the 7th day of the week. 🙂
lovewillbringustogether - Cowslip orchidsCowslip Orchids – they are  a little blurry, but it was taken through trees and bushes from about 40 foot (15m away)!

And as i’m in a generous mood – one more photo of those Kangaroo Paws. They really do look like they are from another planet don’t they? 😉
