One of my very favourite Aussie birds are the galahs (Eolophus roseicapilla), also known as the rose-breasted cockatoo, galah cockatoo, roseate cockatoo or pink and grey. They are cute and comical, quiet, gentle birds, mostly found in mating pairs and are largely used to humans, some of whom keep them as pets, although i much prefer to see them ‘in the wild’.
I caught these busy having their lunch down at a small suburban parkland a short walk from my home. 🙂

You can learn more about these beautiful birds here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galah
* A galah is either an affectionate term of endearment and/or mild derision Down Under, most often used when someone does something dumb. In typical Aussie fashion this is the opposite of what a galah really is as they are one of the more intelligent bird species. 😉
love.
Those are such lovely birds! Always wanted to see them alive and in person, but they are quite rare even in aviaries. Your photography is really improving really fast! Good going.

Glad i could let you see some ‘au naturel’ – even if only in a photo. It was a joy to be able to capture them up close and personal. Thank you for your appreciation and encouragement, it means a lot! 😉
