The weirdness of the weather continues, but as long as it encourages plants like this to flower, i am in no way complaining.
After the Hundred degree temps of the weekend, Monday provided the wettest January day in 18 years, a hundred millimitres (4 inches) of rain fell in 24 hours! To put that in proper perspective this is Summer and that is more than our average total rainfall for the four months to the end of April. It’s roughly similar to getting a foot of snow on the 4th of July – in Texas!
The following day the sun had reappeared and these beauties were taking full advantage! 🙂

They love warmer climates. 🙂 Proof that good things can come in small packages (the flowers are roughly an inch in diam).

Wow. I didn’t recognize these as moss roses until I saw the photo of the entire plant. The white one is especially beautiful in closeups. The red flower in your heading looks like an eye. Had you noticed that?

Eye Had! 🙂 Check them out: https://lovewillbringustogether.wordpress.com/2017/10/15/flower-of-the-day-october-15-2017-poppeyes/
The Moss Rose plant is only small but pound for pound a superb plant and seems to enjoy the heat here and appreciated the heavy downpour also. I love taking the close-ups to see what extra beauty it can reveal. 🙂

I do, too. Many times by the time I put them on the blog, I don’t recognize them in the large form until I go back and see the photo of the entire plant. I appreciate Cee’s daily prompt so much for forcing me to go out each day and really see my plants.. or when traveling, to look more closely.
