Sometimes known as a Cactus Orchid this is a very beautiful cactus flower that is often over 8 inches (20 cm) across. 🙂
This is the first one of my season and seems to be harbouring an unwelcome visitor in it’s midst!

love.
8 inches across is a HUGE bloom! How exciting it must be to watch it bloom in your very own garden. WOW.

I feel blessed every day as something miraculous appears in my garden, as has been happening virtually every day this year since i’ve been spending more time with my camera looking for them, so i can share the wonder with you and the world of bloggers. 🙂
These are cacti and should grow well in a smallish pot with a minimum of care – even in an apartment! ( If you have a sunny window?)

No sunny windows and a sorely brown thumb – so I will continue to appreciate your sharing of the wonders of your garden.

One of the prettier (and larger) flowers i get in my garden! The sepals sometimes look like a waterfall coming out of a cave on a cliff to me! 😉
