Welcome to a regular feature on my blog – WOTD. Each day a new word will be suggested as the word of the day, which could either be an already existing (but rarely used) word or may be a completely made-up one. There will be a short definition and, ideally, an example of how the word would be used in everyday conversation.
I encourage anyone to provide their own words, either in the comments below or by linking their posted word to this blog. Don’t forget the definition or maybe when it should be used.
So, today’s word is: Resiprocate*. (Verb).
Pronounced: Re-sip-ro-kate.
The act of buying a drink for someone who previously bought you one, whilst sipping yours to make it last longer so your companion does not have to feel obligated into buying you another one too soon. 🙂
Antonym: Reguzzlify.
Eg: When meeting a friend for a drink during the day it is considered a common courtesy to resiprocate… unless you both intend to get hammered.
* Another one of those words formed by changing a single letter in an already existing word.
love.
You could just use the real word, reciprocate which mean exactly the same thing, whether it’s a drink or a back rub.

I needed a vent for my fun creative side! 😉
I mean it’s not like we have enough words in English already – right? 😉
