Flower of the Day – September 10, 2017 – (Western) Australian Native Daisy

My home state is world famous for it’s wildflowers and now is the time of year they put on their best displays. Here are some Native Daisies (Rhodanthe Chlorocephala) that are exclusive to WA and are a very popular display flower as they last a long time after cutting (hence the popular name ‘Everlastings’, also sometimes known as Paper Daisies as the petals have the consistency of very thin paper!).  My local council did some traffic management roadworks at the end of my street recently and it seems they planted these wildflowers to brighten the place up a bit – it worked! 🙂
