Flower of the Day – August 2, 2017 – The Weird But Wonderful Geraldton Wax

This is a native of my home state down under. I love that the flower looks like it has literally exploded from a pool of molten wax! It grows as a smallish bush but can reach around 3 m. or 9 ft. tall and may have as many as a thousand flowers like these, each about 2 cm. or 3/4 in. in diameter.

    1. Thank you for your kind words Faye! 🙂 You are quite right the Wax is local to WA although you probably could find one in a nursery i think? They are pretty closely related to Leptospermum or Tea Tree which i’m sure you have/could get.

      love.
