  1. Hydrangeas are one of my favorites. I LOVE the way the blooms can change from blue to pink to white, depending on the acidity of the soil (even producing different colored ones on the same plant!).

    When folks who deadhead give me the spent blooms (no garden space here) I dry them to add to garlands and wreaths – especially in my Christmas decor.

    Madelyn, They are remarkable with their colour-changing properties – we have some ‘blueing powder that is supposed to make the flowers a deeper blue shade but it doesn’t seem to work all that well – i probably don’t use it frequently enough 😉

    I love the idea of using the dried flowers as christmas decorations – they would be perfect! 🙂
