Donald Trump in Aug 2015 at an evangelical campaign rally in Michigan has said that the Bible is his favourite book.
“It’s (His own book – Art of the Deal) my second favorite book of all time. Do you know what my first is? The Bible! Nothing beats the Bible,”

Once he got what he wanted from the voters he was conning he later reverted to form and placed two of his own books back at the top of his favourite’s list.
But the real point here is that Donald might actually think the Bible is a Good Book, it’s just apparent in his actions that he sees it mostly as a fictional, rather than instructional, work. It has some fun stories, as DT might put it. It clearly is NOT his handbook of How to Behave as a Human Being. Or maybe he’s only read the first half and hasn’t quite got to the bit where the good guy comes in and changes the old script for a New Way of Living.
The Donald has also been quoted as saying his favourite verse from the entire Bible is: “An Eye for an Eye!” so he clearly never read where the Chief Christian in Christianity (in fact it is named after Him!) told us in Matthew Ch 5:
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him two. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. (Vs 38-42)
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect. (Vs 43-48)
Ahhh, but what would He know? Right??
I could go on about meekness and humbling one’s self, seeking not the things/treasure, like gold and silver, of this world but building up instead treasures for the next, or how we should always let our yes be yes and our no be no and a whole bunch of other Biblical, or more exactly, New Testament examples DT breaks seemingly daily, but it probably won’t achieve very much, if at all.
It’s not entirely Biblical but my sainted Mother always told me: “If you can’t say something nice about someone then don’t say anything at all”.
