Cee’s Flower of the Day – May 6, 2017 – Tulip
My parents bought their first house in Australia in 1971 – 46 years ago. It had 6 hibiscus trees – 2 blew down after a new fence had been dug in next to them and one died of natural causes. The two remaining pink ones (the other is red, a double flowering one) have put out a dazzling number of beautiful flowers for around 8-9 months a year, each one lasting just a couple of days or so. I estimate the total number (just since we lived here) to be over a hundred thousand individual blooms!!
At times it’s hard to fit them on one branch! Like these 5 clumped together show nicely.
