Cee’s Flower of the Day – May 2, 2017 – Dogwood Tree in Bloom
I need help on this one…
I took some cuttings from a neighbours well kept hedge (with permission!) 😉 and these have just taken off, but i have no idea what they are called?
All suggestions gratefully accepted. The flowers are an inch – inch and a half in diameter. They’re also a tad more bluey than in the first pic but i had to reduce the contrast as was getting glare and some strange blue boarder to the flower as seen in the second photo?

I don’t know what flower that (sorry) but it’s very pretty. Great picture! 🙂

This looks like it has the same leaves and vegetation. It is a bit of a darker purple, but this site could lead you in the right direction. 🙂 http://www.australianplantsonline.com.au/tibouchina-little-beauty.html

Thank you very much E.M. They certainly are very close and i’ve looked at several species of Tibouchina but can’t find an exact match.

Yw! They do look very similar 🙂 I think they have apps that can ID leaves and flowers. Maybe check into that as well?
