Olden is Golden

Feeling like life is passing you by lately? like the days are getting shorter?

Feel the need for a smile?

These may help?

Truths about growing older.

1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.

2) Forget the health food. At my age i need all the preservatives I can get!

3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you’re down there.

4) You’re getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.

5) It’s frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.

6) Time may be a great healer, but it’s a lousy beautician.

7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone, or with a sharp decline in memory recall.

  1. I don’t feel old until I look in the mirror. I also don’t believe I have slowed down, it’s just that everybody else has got faster.

I found some very wise quotes about getting older.

    Richard Needham
For the first half of your life, people tell you what you should do; for the second half, they tell you what you should have done.

The spiritual eyesight improves as the physical eyesight declines.

    H. J. Byron, An Adage
The gardener’s rule applies to youth and age:
When young “sow wild oats,” but when old, grow sage.

    Soren Kierkegaard
Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forewards.

    Helen Rowland
The follies which a man regrets most in his life are those which he didn’t commit when he had the opportunity.

    Arthur Schopenhauer, Paregra und Paralipomena
A man must have grown old and lived long in order to see how short life is.

  2. Ed – then it’s true – with age DOES come wisdom!
i thought mine were funnier though 😛

Tony – i wasn’t claiming originality (other than by omission) … and i hope i haven’t completely taken up that option either 🙂

Part of my ‘heart’ will stay forever ‘young’ – i hope. 🙂
