Spreading the Word

Largely by way of my more ‘secular’ background and youth, i have never been ‘Big’ on Witnessing – also has something to do with my belief that the Way to God is a highly personal thing for each individual and i have little, if any, right to impose my beliefs upon others. (hard as that is sometimes to believe! 😉 )

Sometimes though, the Spirit just moves me and an irresistable thought comes into being.

Sometimes i even feel the need to share it. It happened this week.

There are a number of people lately who have had profoundly GOOD effects upon me and i am happy to have found them and happily give them Credit and credit is indeed well and truly ‘due’. (though none of them will believe that to be true, or ‘deserved’, i am sure)

So Alece, Darla and of course, Tam I stand in awe in witness of His Power and Glory that i see expressed through you to all those you are in contact with, constantly. I am in your debt.

And just so’s people won’t think me one who can only be ‘turned’ by a pretty face…

Brent and Chris – same goes for you, two, Dudes!

Hallelujah 🙂

There are others out there I am blessed for meeting, of course, – i don’t mean to diminish you any – but if i ever had to have a ‘last supper’ i’d choose to spend it with the five above ( ok – you can all bring your spouses 😉 )

…and chocolate would be on the menu! Possibly as a ‘main’ 🙂

..and it is a given that there will be Vege’s and they are to be finished before you get any desert! – I’ve seen the way some of you eat and you’re gonna have ONE decent meal before you pass on. 🙂

  1. THanks Love! That is a very high complement to me!! As for the last meal…chocolate would have to be on the menu, and what would the sense of eating healthy have to do with anything?? hahaha if its the last meal..bring it on!!! 2. Love! Seriously? WOW!!!

Look, “As iron sharpens iron” – It is my joy and honor to be in the company of such wise people. Look at all the diversity your 5 bring. Amazing. This proves “One body many parts” is so effective and necessary. We each have a huge part to play. And when we are doing our part, AND we’re doing it for the Glory of God – our lives will be a natural testimony and witness and we will share it by default…people will just see it. So you do witness Love, make no mistake 😉

And I’m with Darla…Last Supper! Chocolate only! The darker the better!

His Grace extends to us all – what we do with it is largely up to us!

There are some extremely fine examples of what can be done right above this comment and linked in the post – feel free to follow them and share my wonder! 🙂

  6. Okay, so what’s it called when they’re blue when you wear blue and green when you wear green? (I’ve even been told they have yellow flecks when I wear yellow =).
So, maybe ‘aquamarine’ (Ah, my birthstone =)!?
or maybe ‘blue zircon’ (no, too dark)
    …could be hazel, but I know…you can’t tell from the photo =)!

P.S. No, I’m not hurt I was left out of the party (I’m usually a ‘party pooper’ anyway =}!

  7. It’s great of you to point out your appreciation to those who you love! I don’t think I do that quite enough, because much of the time I can’t find the words/it feels awkward/I’m not sure how they will take it. I need to get better about that b/c it’s always nice to be appreciated!

I can identify with what you said in the beginning of this post, about not witnessing sometimes because you don’t want to impose your beliefs on others. I have also had this struggle, because I wasn’t raised a Christian either, and I used to always resent Christians “pushing their beliefs” on me. As Christians we have to walk the fine line between living out our faith and pushing our faith on others.

  8. Chris – That’s another reason I am happy to call you ‘Friend’ – you are a VERY brave (or is it foolish? Will your wife read this blog?? 😉 ) man!

Laz – the MAIN reason i did not include you is: i don’t have a blog to link your name to – yet! 😉

Your dogs have great taste in people. 🙂

  9. Welcome JustLoveHim – a pleasure to hear your comment! 🙂

It can be a very fine line (straight and narrow is the Way) to walk His walk in the way we believe we should.

Our fears can lead us to be cautious, sometimes overly so, and we do not say (or perhaps do) what we truly feel in our Hearts that we know deep inside is the right thing to do.

I believe part of Having Christ within us is learning to have the courage to do and say what we believe to be Right.

It is possible that from time to time we will be in error because of our own ability to misunderstand some situations but we can learn a lot about ourselves from those errors and will only grow in Him if we earnestly do what we can to overcome our fears and do so with Him at our core.

I have seen your ability to write and to express His Love – Truly, as i see it. Find in Him and through Him, in you, the Courage to say what is in your Heart – to those who are also in it as well as to those ‘strangers’ who need to hear it.

Nice of you to drop by and comment – come by anytime! 🙂

  10. Oh – and Laz?? I would call your eyes – Empathetic – they take in and reflect what is close to them (you) at any given moment 😉

So – does anyone want to guess what colour my right eye is – from the pic???

Hint: it’s the same colour as my left one! 😉

  11. Wow, are you ‘smooth’!? ‘Sounds like you may have learned your reponses by experience (as we all hopefully should =). By it, I think you’ve given the best ‘prod’ so far for my starting a blog. But ‘don’t hold your breath until it happens. As I’ve told others, it takes way too long to just make comments (scrutinizing every word to prevent misunderstanding – not that it does, but at least I can be at peace it’s what He wanted written). As a result, if I had to enter posts and answer comments, I’d never get anything else done around here.

And I assume you meant ’empathetic’ by my eyes’ ability to change color depending on their surroundings? I would hope that could be true of my character as well, but only comes as I get closer to HIS.

I have known someone who had one blue and one brown eye naturally, and no, he wasn’t a husky(they have that trait don’t they??).

And by the way, I also have good taste in dogs as well (they’re the best =)!

I have some rough spots to be sure but i have always been one who desires to pour oil on troubled waters and smmooth the way to better understanding – sometimes far from successful in that though 😉

I can certainly concur with your ‘time constraints’ i feel very much as you do although i guess my ‘drive’ to get things off my chest and blog to anyone kind enough to listen might be a little stronger, perhaps? 🙂

You assumed quite correctly about empathy but there was a deeper connection to the character also intended.

Any chance you could put the pooches up as a comment pic one time?? 🙂

Darla – a reasonable guess! – given the relative proportion of blue-eyed caucasian males.

Any others before i award the prize?? (Did i not mention there was a prize for first accurate guess?) 🙂

  15. Bran – thank you for asking! 🙂

At the risk of drawing down further comment concerning ‘numerology’ (which i do NOT ascribe to or recommend as a belief) …

The numbers are the Numbers of your Name (given name only shown) and are derived using the simple concept of ‘decoding’ we all did at school (well – I did and that’s good enough for me!)

That is you add up using 1 for A, 2 for B and 3 for C and so forth…

Alece gets a ‘wow! after hers due to the simple fact that Alece (26) is the same number you get when you ‘decode’ G O D!!! – 26! (which by what some would call an amazing coincidence is the same as the number of letters in the English alphabet (26)- with which we are most familiar today!)

It can be done for nicknames as well as ordinary names also. B-R-A-N-D-Y would total 64. Each total can simply be converted down to a single digit (of the nine from which all possible numbers* can be comprised) by adding the two (or in Christians case the three) digits. So your ‘reduced’ number for your name would be 6+4 = 10 = 1.

Mine is 78 which ‘adds’ to 6.

So now you know – Sorry you asked yet?? 😉

    * – i said NINE digits from which… when we all know full well there are actually TEN ‘single’ digits we use to make up any number.

Try as you may you will never find any name (or word) that adds up to the FIRST ‘digit’ (as God counts things) which is Zero – nothing, hence only nine digits are (lowest) possible totals for our names.

For any who are interested Jesus adds to 74 (11 or 2) and Mohammed totals 69 (6)

I love playing with numbers – what can i say?? 🙂

  16. Do I dare comment??? 😉

That last sentence – Mohammed being 6 – now you’re gonna think I’m crazy but I’ve been wondering in recent years if the number 666 being the number of a man, and Mohammed (and consequently, Islam) coming to power in the mid-600’s has anything in common??

The teaching is truly anti-Christ, so…

  17. So, if yours are blue, whose are hazel, besides Christian’s wife? Was Tam describing mine? (she was actually the one who’d said they had a little yellow in them). That was years ago, but I don’t think they’ve changed–just the number of wrinkles around them =).

So, I’ll email a photo for you to decide. You can do with it as you will, and I’ll send a photo of the dogs too (their wrinkles don’t show through the hair =)!

My birthday is a ’26’ so does that count for anything good?

I get into numbers too, but usually only significant dates (411) and scripture verses (333).

I’ll send along the photos as soon as I’m able.

Question #2 (I can’y believe I’m asking) but what is the purpose of the numbers for the name? Just for fun, or is there a point in time or situation where it calls for that? I’m just curious. 😀 haha

Tam – you are right – twice! it was! and i got it!(u) (and have both safely ‘recorded’ – and treasured! 😉 )

    ‘A hostile comment take-over..’ I LOVE that! 😀

Michelle – Crazy you are me think!! (been ‘there’ too!) Dare away!

I would like to AGAIN refer to Scripture – specifically Rev 13:18 – and Say – Anti-Christ Teaching?? which inflection were you using meaning. (Remembering my stated opinion (multiple times now) on Numerology – the practice of Divining solely by ‘numbers’)

Chris – you were the exception! it’s not 101 – it’s lol – you crack me up, Frere Bear! 😉

Laz2 – I use numbers simply as another way of looking at things – i feel validated by this as EVERTHING we do ‘here’ on computers ultimately boils down to just two ‘numbers’ (states) being represented by 1 or 0 it is this ability of the every day world being able to be ‘broken down’ into various combinations of those two (binary) digits that is what is meant every time we hear the word ‘digital’ as relating to some new way of communicating or distributing information. ( Digital watch, Digital network, Digital camera. etc. etc. Because this is not very ‘user-friendly’ to the human brain we have invented ten different digits (because we have ten fingers and toes – digits). We have also invented 26 letters of our alphabet (without which we would not have Scripture today to ‘guide’ us!!!)

I find it laughable that we are encouraged to read in code 26 but discouraged (by some) from trying to ‘see’ things in code 10.

Numbers let us see things another way that still makes perfect sense to our understanding – to those who can truly understand!

Most people got so turned ‘off’ by Maths at school that we choose the more complex ‘code 26’ (english language) to the mathematically precise ‘code 10’ one.

    But i digress… 🙂

26 (8) just so ‘happens’ to be the number you get when you ‘add’ the letters G – O – D, make of that what you will 🙂

Looking at dates and birthdays etc is somewhat more ‘problematic’ as Scripture does not (as far as i am currently aware) offer examples. (Numbering the name however is in The Bible)

As i have TRIED to make clear to all – numbers (as i use them) are simply a (INTERNALLY CONSISTENT) way of looking at things – so as to perhaps see ‘connections’ that would not otherwise be very obvious – a way of showing ‘patterns and symmetry’ that our english language might sometimes ‘hide’ from view.

Where it might become ‘dangerous’ is when someone tries (imperfectly) to make EXTERNAL conections from this system. Such as believing that a certain birthdate ‘means’ something.

I may not be explaining my understanding very clearly?? 🙂

Bran – are you still here after all that??? 🙂 😉

I hope i made SOME snese up there ^^^?

To answer you directly – MY reason for puting up the numbers on my blogroll was to ‘see'(and show to others who were interested – like you – tee-hee) what your ‘name’ added up to and to see which of the nine digits (ultimate ‘types’) that part of your name added to to see if any ‘links’ popped into being.

The only part of the ‘coding’ you may be missing are to do with something that was ‘given’ to me one night last year. I have shared that with a few selected friends and can send you a copy? (watch your in-box!)

The point? other than what i have already said here there may be a serious one – but i need more understanding before i know what it is – i try to keep my mind open – not closed as i know i don’t have perfect understanding of anything. 🙂
